Corner Canyons Partial Hospitalization Program

What is a Partial Hospitalization Program?

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a structured mental health treatment program that provides intensive therapeutic services for individuals with mental health conditions, without requiring them to stay in the hospital overnight, or attend a 24/7 inpatient residential program. In PHP, client receive a comprehensive range of mental health services, including individual therapy, group therapy, medication management, and psychoeducation.

PHPs are often used as a step-down option for individuals who have been discharged from an inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, or residential treatment program, but still require intensive support and treatment to maintain their mental health stability. PHPs typically operate during the day and may run for several weeks, or months, providing patients with the flexibility to return home in the evenings and on weekends.

PHPs have been shown to be effective in treating mental health issues because they provide a highly structured and supportive environment that allows clients to focus on their recovery. By offering a range of evidence-based treatment modalities and services, PHPs can help clients develop the coping skills and strategies they need to manage their symptoms and maintain their mental health stability.

Benefits of attending a partial hospitalization program include:

Intensive treatment: PHPs offer more intensive treatment than traditional outpatient therapy, allowing patients to receive more comprehensive care.
Flexibility: Patients are able to return home in the evenings and on weekends, allowing them to maintain some degree of normalcy in their daily lives.
Structured environment: PHPs provide a structured environment that can help patients establish healthy routines and coping strategies.
Peer support: Clients have the opportunity to connect with others who are going through similar experiences, which can provide a sense of camaraderie and support.

Overall, a partial hospitalization program can be an effective option for individuals who require intensive mental health treatment but do not require round-the-clock medical supervision. It can provide clients with the support, skills, and strategies they need to manage their mental health condition and improve their overall quality of life.
